Anyone with an interest in serving on a committee should contact the Perennial Plant Association office. Each committee member will serve a 3-year term.

Education Committee

Responsible for suggesting education opportunities for the membership and the public about perennials.  Activities include the scholarship program, internship service, New Idea Brochures and the Garden Guide.

Environmental Committee

Responsible for collecting and reviewing information about perennials to relation to their environment and the environment in relation to herbaceous perennials. The information is distributed among the membership in PPA publications.

Grower Committee

Responsible for assembling information for the education of growers and other members who provide perennials. The committee also suggests topics for programs for breakout sessions, regional symposia, and the annual symposium to enable our members to remain abreast of timely, current educational information for better growing perennials.

International Relations Committee

Responsible for fostering the interchange of information among PPA members and the perennial industry worldwide.

Landscape Design Awards Committee

Responsible for implementing the design competition program to promote interest in the use of perennials in landscape design. The committee also suggests topics for programs for breakout sessions, regional symposia, and the annual symposium to enable our members to remain abreast of timely, current educational information for better landscape design.

Marketing Committee

Responsible for providing suggestions for furthering the interest in and use of perennial plants. The committee develops ideas for educational and marketing tools such as posters, educational brochures, picture post cards, PPA website and Perennial Plant of the Year™ promotional material.

Responsible for exploring methods to expand the membership base and developing promotional items for recruitment.

Nomenclature Committee

Responsible for providing a list of references to use for correct nomenclature of perennial plants. The committee keeps abreast of changes in nomenclature and reports them to PPA members.  Reported changes will be included in Perennial Plants, the PPA journal.  The committee works with the international nomenclature community to insure consistency of nomenclature activity.

Retail Committee

Responsible for generating ideas for promotion of perennials in the retail outlet.  Such suggestions will be translated into industry-wide campaigns to increase interest in the use of perennials.  The committee also suggests topics for programs for breakout sessions, regional symposia, and the annual symposium to enable our members to remain abreast of timely, current educational information for better retailing of perennials.
