Overview
The Award of Merit is the highest honor bestowed by the Perennial Plant Association. The Award of Merit recognizes an individual(s) who has significantly contributed to the herbaceous perennial plant industry in growing, marketing, contracting, writing, teaching, extension, research, landscaping, hybridizing, promotion, or innovation. This prestigious award is presented at the Perennial Plant Symposium.
The Award of Merit is the highest honor bestowed by the Perennial Plant Association and is given to an individual in recognition of outstanding contributions to the perennial industry.

Allen was presented with an engraved walnut plaque by President John Hoffman during the 29th Perennial Plant Symposium and Trade show award ceremony in Atlanta, Georgia.
