Light: Full sun in northern gardens to partial shade in areas with long, hot summers.

Soil: Tolerates a wide range of soil types as long as good drainage is present.

Planting Information: Bare root plants are best planted in spring. Potted plants should be set so that they are at the same depth as they were in the pot. These can be planted anytime from late spring until about a month before a hard, killing frost.

Propagation: This plant is usually propagated by seed and most growers try to harvest their seed from choice, dark-leaved forms. Can also be vegetatively propagated by leaf.
